ALECTIA wins the new indoor baths "Klinten"
A new big indoor bath project in Stevns, called ”Klinten” (the cliff) is constructed by ALECTIA together with the contractors MT Højgaard, the architects Mangor & Nagel, and the Danish Technological Institute. The group has won a convincing victory based on the architectural likenesses to Stevns’ cliffs and convincing marks for energy, indoor climate and environment.

A new, large 3,600 m2 indoor bath project, called “Klinten”, in the municipality of Stevns will be constructed by a team consisting of the contractor MT Højgaard, the architects Mangor & Nagel, the Danish Technological Institute, and the consulting engineers ALECTIA. The project has a value of about DKK 40 mill. The team won with a considerable margin to the other competitors. In their report the judges wrote:
”The guideline of the proposal is the cliffs of Stevns, the undulating, green landscape ending abruptly at the high, sheer cliffs. This inspiration has been used with great consistency and proficiency to create a powerful, coherent architectonic solution.”
The judging committee furthermore gave very convincing marks for energy, indoor climate and environment.

Grows out of the meadows
The design of the roof opens up the building to the landscape around it and lets the light in. The bathers can enjoy the changing light and colours of the billowing landscape over the year. The judging committee further writes:
”Contrary to the other proposals that are based on the principles for standard storage buildings, the volume of this building is adapted to the shape of the ground and creates a fine, sculptural transition to the existing sports centre to the north. The building literally grows out of the meadows”.
The indoor baths include four swimming pools of different sizes. The length of largest pool – 25 meters – complies with international standards. The baths will also have facilities for the staff, a large hot water pool, family- and disabled-friendly facilities, and a wellness section with different types of saunas.
