ALECTIA is PCB consultant on one of the largest PCB renovations till now in Denmark, the building facade of about 5,500 m2 of the PriceWaterhouseCoopers headquarters on Hellerup Strandvej.

After 7 months of intensive PCB renovation, the 800 employees of PriceWaterhouseCoopers in the R1-House on Hellerup Strandvej will again have a normal working day. ALECTIA has provided PCB consultancy on the project and co-operated closely with the main contractor Skana Entreprise, the administrator of the building Dan-Ejendomme, and the building owner Pension Danmark.

Every PCB-containing joint in the facade structure has been replaced, and after removal, cleaning and re-mounting of 575 facade closures distributed over six floors, the project is now close to being completed.

The project is one of the largest ever PCB renovations in Denmark – a task that in addition to the PCB renovation included mould treatment and traditional renovation services including screening and trimming of nearly 5,500 m2 facade.

The renovation of the large building has been a very concentrated process, where the workmen have worked their way downwards from floor to floor in accordance with a fixed time-schedule.

The work has been done in accordance with an completely fixed and invariable model, where the building was divided into red, yellow and green zones, and the individual floors were completed in a systematic and successive order. For safety reasons, the work was also divided into 3 phases. One phase comprised covering, hermetic sealing, and establishment of double-gate lock to the working area; the next phase included washing-down and cleaning; and during the last phase ALECTIA, Skana Entreprise, the building owner, the users, and the building administrator together have checked the work and collected experience before the handing-over.
