Thise Dairy is the largest dairy in Denmark producing only organic dairy products. The cooperative dairy makes 85 different organic dairy products, is owned by 87 organic farmers and produces about 20% of the total amount of organic milk in Denmark. ALECTIA has been the Thise Dairy’s adviser for 15 years and has been involved in projects on both the architect and the engineer side and as trusted adviser. Moreover, as Denmark’s largest occupational health and safety consultant ALECTIA has acted as adviser on almost all the occupational health and safety challenges at Thise Dairy.

ALECTIA and Thise Dairy have worked together since 1996 where ALECTIA designed a cheese storage extension of approx. 1,400 m² and established a new boiler room and a silo tank plant. At the same time the dairy was reviewed with a view to optimizing the energy efficiency. Since then a continuous modernization has taken place and in the period 2005-2008 Thise Dairy, with the assistance of ALECTIA, built a 5,000 m² cheese factory, production and storage buildings. ALECTIA has been involved in all the assignments on both the architect and the engineer side and as trusted adviser. At the moment ALECTIA is working on an extension of the staff facilities with locker rooms and showers at Thise Dairy.

Occupational health and safety consulting from A-Z
ALECTIA advises on a wide range of occupational health and safety challenges at Thise Dairy including the occupational health and safety organisation, occupational health and safety courses, night work examinations, indoor climate in offices, acoustics regulation and noise control, hearing tests, ergonomic health and safety consulting in production and retail and workplace instructions as regards chemicals, risk assessment, machine safety, etc.

Furthermore, ALECTIA has worked together with Thise Dairy on two projects with money from two funds:

• Mapping of good ergonomic solutions and ergonomic challenges on 22 dairies, funded by the Health and Safety Committee of the Dairy Industry
• Development of auxiliary equipment on the basis of knowledge from the above- mentioned mapping project, funded by The Prevention Fund
