Topsoe Fuel Cell extends the production of full cell technology

Topsoe Fuel Cell develops fuel cell technology to energy plants for production of environmentally friendly green power and heat in trucks, houses, hospitals and supermarkets. There are high expectations for the unique technology and the consultancy company ALECTIA is going to help Topsoe Fuel Cell with optimizing the production processes in a new production facility of 2,000 m2, which will be built near the existing pilot plant.
The Topsoe Group aims at an environmentally friendly fuel cell technology where they develop fuel cells to energy plants for production of environmentally friendly green power and heat in trucks, houses, hospitals and supermarkets.
Topsoe Fuel Cell has very high expectations for the fuel cells and started the building works in July 2011. Furthermore, the sales are expected to exceed the existing limits and equipment capacities in 2013 where the new production facility will be put into operation.

A fuel cell produces electricity from fuel and air. The simplest fuel cell produces electricity from hydrogen and air with water as the only by-product.
Production optimization of green and alternative energy
The production facility is built in Topsoe Fuel Cell’s existing building on Nymøllevej 66, Lyngby, 35 km north of Copenhagen. ALECTIA advises on production optimization and the overall assignment is to make Topsoe Fuel Cell’s green and alternative energy more competitive – one of the project objectives is a considerable reduction of the production costs per cell.
The opening of the production facility is scheduled for December 2012. The production will be established step by step and be fully expanded in 2016, enabling Topsoe Fuel Cell to meet the estimated 2016-demand.
The design of the building will be carried out in close cooperation between the consultancy company ALECTIA, the parent company Haldor Topsoe and Topsoe Fuel Cell. Read more on Topsoe Fuel Cell’s website.
