A client always has a vision for his investment. As a trusted adviser, our primary duty is to make that vision become a reality. We have succeeded in doing so in connection with a project we are carrying out for one of the world’s largest private equity investment firms, the American Carlyle Group. The company has in recent years been investing in Denmark, and since 2005 they have actually invested more than DKK 2 billion in Danish properties.

ALECTIA has acted as consultant for the majority of the Carlyle Group’s investments in the Danish property market. At first as the client’s representative in various building projects.

Since then we have become Carlyle’s trusted adviser in connection with an extensive renovation of the old telephone house in Nørregade, which the Carlyle Group wants to turn into a modern office building with several leases. The property is unique by virtue of its size and location (49,000 square metres in the centre of Copenhagen).

Due to Carlyle’s international rooting with the closest office in Stockholm, we have worked hard to understand Carlyle’s business, and we have succeeded in particular through a strong relationship of trust.

As trusted adviser, we have not only acted as consultant to the builder. We have moved even closer to the client – in collaboration with the broker – and have been involved right from the beginning in designing the framework for the entire project, and subsequently managing the project development.

In other words, we have been sitting on the same side of the table as our client. We have advised him on a variety of issues - project economy, risks, practical project implementation, and agreements. We have provided the necessary people and resources, delivered the whole range of engineering services, and are now well on the way to making the vision become a reality.
