EXPO 2010 Shanghai - better city - better living

The World Fair, EXPO 2010, is being held in Shanghai, China with a focus on sustainable urban development. 70 million visitors are expected at the fair.
Over 200 countries and organisations have pavilions at the fair, including Denmark, which is making its largest investment to date in EXPO with a pavilion of approximately 3,000 m2.
ALECTIA is subconsultant on the project for the architecture firm BIG, with responsibility for tendering, contracts and the actual construction in China. At the same time, we are consultant for the building owner, the Danish Enterprise and Construction Authority, and act on their behalf during construction works. We see it as a unique opportunity to highlight Denmark for the rest of the world.

Odense – first Danish city at EXPO
Odense Municipality was invited to EXPO 2010, along with 55 other cities, independent of the national pavilions. Odense’s pavilion is 500 m2 and includes a 150 m bike path called ‘Spinning Wheels’, which promotes Odense as a bicycle city. ALECTIA provides all planning, design and construction management services.
