Extension of production facilities for Tönnies Fleisch

The meat processing company ”Slagteriet Brørup A/S”, owned by Tönnies Fleisch, the third largest meat processing group in Europe, has enlarged its production facilities in cooperation with ALECTIA. The result is a new, ultramodern extension with a chill tunnel, equalization rooms, cutting department as well as changing and canteen facilities for the employees.
Slagteriet Brørup A/S is an international food processing company with main activities within production and sale of fresh and frozen pork products. The company is in constant growth, and with an expected annual slaughtering of 1,0 million pigs the third largest meat processing company in Denmark. Slagteriet Brørup A/S is owned by German Tönnies Fleisch, which is the third largest meat processing group in Europe.
In cooperation with ALECTIA, Slagteriet Brørup has enlarged its production facilities with a new, ultramodern extension with chill tunnel, new equalization rooms and a new cutting department. The extra production capacity has resulted in an increase in the number of employees, and the extension therefore also contains new changing and canteen facilities.
ALECTIA has subsequently provided consultancy to Slagteriet Brørup on a number of other projects, including freezing of plucks in a new flow freezer, and implementation of group anaesthetization of pigs. This has led to an improved animal welfare before the slaughtering, as well as improved working conditions for the employees in the stable and the unclean section.
Other projects concern consultancy on noise screening, improved waste handling, and improvement of the washing facilities used to clean internal equipment.
