DONG Energy, one of Northern Europe’s leading utility companies, has grown to almost 6,000 employees, necessitating a large-scale extension and gathering of its administration facilities at Nesa Allé in Gentofte. ALECTIA has been the client’s adviser and provided design and project management for the project.

The large project of extending DONG Energy’s administration buildings in Gentofte includes:

Administration building alongside Lyngbyvejen
For the first phase of the construction alongside Lyngbyvejen, ALECTIA has provided consulting services in connection with corrective actions related to building automation and installations.

Extension of administration building (to the north)
The existing administration building alongside Lyngbyvejen will be extended by 8,000 m² to the north. The extension will be constructed in accordance with the same architectural principles as the existing building. The new buildings will be three-stories high and include a covered atrium with a three-story headroom.

ALECTIA is responsible for owner representative services as well as design and planning management, including detailed design of Building Management System (BMS) and Intelligent Building System (IBS) to control climate, light and solar screening in the many offices.

New supply plant for cooling and heating
A new supply plant of 2,500 m²  will be constructed. The plant will supply all DONG Energy’s buildings at Nesa Allé with cooling in the form of cold water, heating, and electricity, sprinkler system, back-up diesel systems, and transformers.

ALECTIA is in charge of design management, detailed design, supervision and construction management.

Extensions of administration and canteen buildings
The administration building will be extended to the west by additional 29,995 m² offices and 17,000 m²  basement to the west. The existing canteen building will be extended at the same time (the rotunda).

ALECTIA is responsible for owner representative services, including environmental impact assessment, pre-classification of the building site, handling of contaminated soil, fire strategy, regulatory processing, planning of logistics, and negotiations with contractors. In connection with the canteen extension ALECTIA works as adviser in close operation with the Construction Manager.

ALECTIA has furthermore established the operational plan, as well as a customized set-up and platform for future controlling of the new administration building’s operations and maintenance.

New passageway under Lyngbyvejen
The extensive project includes a new passageway under Lyngbyvejen connecting the administration building with a parking area to the east of Lyngbyvejen.

ALECTIA has delivered conceptual design and feasibility studies and handled the initial contacts to authorities to obtain the necessary permissions.
