Optimised beer production in the UK

In a saturated international market where beer is constantly being sold at cheaper and cheaper prices, breweries are under increasing pressure to deliver the product at minimum cost without compromising quality.
In 2006, Carlsberg implemented a large restructuring project to optimise produc-tion at their two English breweries. Production is being consolidated in Northampton, and the brewery in Leeds is being closed down.
Optimisation will take place while production is running. Renovating and installing equipment in an existing plant without affecting productivity is a complicated task that requires detailed planning and coordination.
ALECTIA provides consultancy for all phases of the project – from the business case and master plan, through subcontractor agreements and follow-up, to testing and commissioning. We are also handling the overall project management on the process and construction side, as well as relations with subcontractors. Our British colleagues from ALECTIA Ltd. are in charge of building site management and ensure continuity of the project. The project is a very good example of the results we can achieve with a strong, international team.
